Contemplation I Unio Mystica — What the Soul Longs For

What is the soul, and what does it want?

⸻

A lifelong contemplation begins here.

⸻

There is no final answer.

The soul does not appear as a concept.

It emerges in fragments, signs, breaks, and encounters—whenever something within us is touched.

⸻

This is not a system.

It is a mosaic of being in its becoming.

⸻

Thoughts moving around the same mystery: the soul, freedom, and the longing for connection.

⸻

The soul appears in encounter.

With ourselves.

With others.

⸻

Veiled, and yet present.

⸻

Nietzsche wrote:

Become who you are.

⸻

For C. G. Jung, the Self was the aim of individuation.

Both describe the same movement.

Not the ego.

The soul.

⸻

What it means to live as a soulful human being is this:

to live in communion with one’s own soul—and through this, to become capable of touching other souls.

⸻

This question holds something essential:

the deepest longing of the human being.

The longing for resonance.

The longing for connection.

The longing for unio mystica.

⸻

Everything is relation.

⸻

Heraclitus wrote:

hen panta einai — all is one

panta rhei — everything flows

⸻

The same intuition appears in the I Ching, the Book of Changes.

⸻

Nature changes.

Seasons return.

Everything moves.

Everything transforms.

And yet something moves through it all, searching for itself.

The soul.

⸻

The nature of things is change.

The nature of nature is change.

The nature of the human being is change.

⸻

Belonging to nature means: transformation belongs to the human being.

⸻

Identity appears fixed.

Any serious reflection on the human being reaches a limit:

the human being cannot be finally defined.

⸻

Freedom appears here.

⸻

This is why freedom is longed for.

⸻

The soul is free.

Its freedom precedes order.

⸻

It cannot be owned.

It cannot be fixed.

It cannot be fully grasped.

⸻

The world appears.

Its beauty unfolds.

Its wounds open.

⸻

War.

Alienation.

A noise of the many — a spiralling crescendo of saturation.

⸻

A world growing louder.

A time accelerating, while the essential fades.

⸻

Still, the same universal longing persists:

Peace.

Love.

Freedom.

Truth.

Beauty.

⸻

Not as ideas.

As lived experience.

⸻

A single thread runs through this contemplation.

⸻

Here, writing becomes necessary.

Not to teach.

Not to convince.

But to remember.

⸻

The world does not need more knowledge.

⸻

The ego is not sovereign.

The soul is.

⸻

Every transformation begins with touch.

Not with systems.

Not with ideology.

⸻

The soul is touched through resonance:

Through art.

Through music.

Through a person.

Through a sentence.

Through an image.

Through a gaze.

⸻

What touches is this:

the soul in movement.

the soul shining through a person.

a beautiful soul shining through a work of art.

the soul moving toward connection.

⸻

The soul wants to appear.

Not to rule.

But to relate.

⸻

This is where unio mystica begins.

⸻

This Mystery.
